Songs from Musicals
I love to sing. One of my favorite places to do that right now is on Smule, one of those apps that let you sing and record karaoke style songs. It's great to be able to sing solo songs on there. For example, it's fun to try to channel the young Julie Andrews when singing something like Camelot's Lusty Month of May But it's much more fun to sing songs like Wicked's No Good Deed when you've got a camera to watch you sing it-- and can go back and watch your performance. It's not always perfect, but perfect is overrated! I've never seen Man of La Mancha's Aldonza performed. I hope one day I get the chance to watch the whole production, rather than little snippets here and there. An even newer songs that I enjoy singing is Hamilton's Burn . Of course, everyone loves this song: poor Eliza. She's so upset by her husband-- it's not even the cheating, is it? I enjoy trying to emote the resigned feeling by the end of the song. I was...
